If we do not used insecticide during insect infestation, that the number of insect will increase further it will become more difficult to control insects. so we should use acetamiprid insecticide when pest are active in our field.

(iii) Application Method 0f Acetamiprid

The action of acetamiprid depend on its target insect and released formulation. Before using this, we should read the level which is given by manufacturer. Some application method given below.

(a) Foliar Application

We use suspension concentrate, Emulsion concentrate and wettable powder through follower application. in this method, we mix acetamiprid with water and spray it on the plant leaves before spraying we should pay attention to the instruction given by the manufacturer and carefully read the instructions.

(b) Soil Application

It is applied directly on the soil. it may contain Granule and powder formulation. at some place, we use it in SC (Suspension Concentration)  formulation.

  • Granule formulation is applied in the soil by sprinkling method and before using granule formulation we have to check whether there is moisture in our field then apply.
  • We can make the powder formulation by mixing it with any granule fertilizer or we can sprinkle the powder on the area where the insect is installed.
  • At some places, we apply the suspension concentration directly on the soil by spraying its.

(c) Injection

By injection, Acetamiprid insecticide is injected into the soil vascular tissue of plant. we use this injection method of to monitor the abundance of pest.

(d) Direct Spray

In this method, we use an aerosol formulation of Acetamiprid insecticide which is use for spot treatment in local areas.

(e) Drenching

In this method, we use suspension concentrate and wettable powder formulation. In this, insecticide is first dissolved in the water and it is thickened to make to suitable for use and the soil at the base of the plant is moistened with this spray.

(f)  Soil Drenching

In this method, suspension concentrate and granule formulation is made, first sprinkle/spray this formulation on the soil at the base of the plant and after that we sprinkle/spry it with water which is then carried by acetamiprid roots.

(iv) Safety precaution

We should wear safety clothes for our personal safety ex- Protective clothe, goggles, gloves, protective footwear, long pant and mask etc. and we should read Acetamiprid insecticide level given by manufacture.

(v) Environmental condition

We should do acetamiprid in clean and good weather. we should not do it in too much sunlight. we can use it in morning and evening time. While using acetamiprid insecticide, we should pay special attention that there should not be rain for 2-3 hours because due to rain the insecticide flow away.

Mode of action or How to Effect insect

Acetamiprid binds to nicotine acetylcholine receptors in nervous system. These receptors are important for transmitting information through the nervous system. Acetamiprid interferes with these receptors and usually remains open for a longer period of time, causing an increased flow of ions to nervous system. Due to which cramps, rashes and vibration occur inside the insects, due which insect dies.
